Day 253 from Kaahama to Ngara, Tanzania
Tanzania
Early in the morning, loud knocking set the tone for the day. Directly in front of the hotel, stones were being broken apart to produce material for building a wall, offering an immediate glimpse into everyday work along the route.
As the journey continued, the route passed through the hometown of the TANESCO electrical chief who had supported the charging of the VW ID. Buzz throughout Tanzania. Locals there extended a warm invitation to join them for a coffee, creating a moment of personal exchange.
The drive then led through a large gold mining village, where motorcycles dominated the streets and served as the primary means of transportation. After a relaxed charging stop at a newly built substation, road conditions shifted once more. The asphalt gave way to a red dirt track, guiding the route deeper into the expansive landscape.
Next stop: Ngaha, Tanzania!
