Day 127
Tyre Testing and Dealer Presentation
The return journey from Bali to Jakarta included a meaningful pause near the capital: a visit to Giti Tire’s impressive proving ground, one of Southeast Asia’s largest tyre testing centres. The facility became the backdrop for a key event, where Giti presented the ID. Buzz World Tour project to national dealers. Meanwhile, the vehicle itself was put through a series of driving exercises—its final test on Indonesian soil after an extraordinary stretch of terrain.
Preparing for Australia
After the track session, it was time to begin the handover process. The ID. Buzz was driven to Jakarta’s port, where a meticulous cleaning operation awaited. To meet Australia’s strict biosecurity regulations, every trace of soil had to be removed. This meant removing the fender liners and wheel-arch covers, and thoroughly scrubbing every component to ensure not even a speck of organic material remained.
Once fully cleaned and cleared, the vehicle was loaded into a twenty-foot container—its next home for the ocean crossing to Australia. Bound for Melbourne aboard a Maersk vessel, the ID. Buzz’s arrival was scheduled for the 9th of December.
Next stop: Melbourne!
