Day 83: Jinghong to Mohan
The final afternoon in Jinghong was spent alongside the team from Giti Tire, who joined the tour for a relaxed but meaningful photo session. Together, they captured the vibrant character of the city—its tropical architecture, lively streets, and distinct Southeast Asian atmosphere, providing a vivid visual close to this leg of the journey.
Crossing to the Border
As daylight faded, the team made their way south toward Mohan, the border crossing between China and Laos. Nestled amid dense forest and humid hills, Mohan marked both a geographical and emotional milestone—the end of the China chapter.
Farewell and Gratitude
Morning brought a subdued but heartfelt farewell. After more than a month on the road together, the Chinese team—including guide Mr Wang and photographer Jack—concluded their part of the journey. Their role in navigating the logistics, language, and culture across such a vast country had been critical, and their departure signalled both the end of an era and the beginning of the next stage.
