Day 95–97: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Border Crossing and Northern Welcome
Crossing into Malaysia under heavy rain, the journey took on a more reflective tone. After an overnight stop in Georgetown, the team continued southward, crossing the bridge to Peninsular Malaysia’s mainland. Motorbikes flooded the highway, weaving through traffic with ease—a constant rhythm on Malaysian roads.
Into the Capital – Sunshine, Skyscrapers and Streetlife
Arriving in Kuala Lumpur, the weather shifted dramatically. Bright skies offered perfect conditions for a tour through the city centre. First stop: the Petronas Towers. Standing beneath the twin steel giants, surrounded by fellow visitors, the ID. Buzz crew paused to capture the moment. The suspended bridge between the towers seemed to symbolise the connection between innovation and elegance.
Nearby, Merdeka 118 stood tall on the skyline. A surprise awaited at its base—a marathon in progress. A few quick conversations with runners brought new energy and unexpected camaraderie.
The walking tour continued past the historic Majestic Hotel and on to the colonial-era KTM train station, its white arches still commanding attention. The day ended in Petaling Street, where the full vibrancy of Kuala Lumpur unfolded—market sounds, food aromas, and flashing neon blending into a sensory finale.
