From Sunflowers to the Bosphorus – A Shortcut Through Greece and Into Turkey

Day 19: Greece to Istanbul

Early Start and Rural Roads

The day began early, with a quiet departure from Bulgaria under the first light of day. A quick stop at a local bakery provided a warm breakfast to start the journey south. As the ID. Buzz moved through the countryside, the route was lined with fields of sunflowers and the occasional stork perched above on roadside wires.

A Short Visit to Greece

By midday, the team reached the Greek border. The time in Greece was brief, but long enough to mark the country with a few photos before continuing toward Turkey. With Istanbul set as the goal for the day, the route remained tight and focused.

Final European Charge with Elli

Before reaching the Turkish border, the team stopped at the final Elli charger in the region. The station recognised the ID. Buzz without issue, delivering a quick and efficient charge. As with previous stops across Europe, the network proved reliable and seamless.

Arrival in Istanbul

Crossing into Turkey just before sunset, the crew arrived in Istanbul as the city lights came on. After a long day and multiple borders, the team spent the final hours unpacking, reorganising and preparing for the next major milestone of the journey.

The European chapter of the tour now draws to a close.

Next stop: Asia.
