Just 10 months ago, motorsports driver Pietro Fittipaldi was zooming around the tracks of F3 Asian Championship circuits throughout the region, going against top young driving competition on GitiCompete GTR1 tyres. From December 4th-6th, he will be called on to the highest level of racing as the newest Formula 1 driver, replacing injured driver Romain Grosjean at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain.
The 24-year old Pietro Fittipaldi is the grandson of two-time F1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi, and has already had strong success in his young career. This includes racing with Pinnacle Motorsport in the Giti-Sponsored 2020 F3 Asian Championship, placing in the top 5 of the series competition with 119 points – through five rounds of races taking place in Malaysia, Thailand, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. The F3 Asian series encourages the development of top young talent from all around the world, “Powering Up Tomorrow’s Racing Leaders” to prepare for top competition, as Fittipaldi has demonstrated.
To provide the training needed to succeed and grow into top form, the best quality of tyres and vehicle services are required, which includes a full Giti technical team at each Formula 3 Asian Series race. Through top-level motorsports events like this and many others around the world, Giti also has the opportunity to put its tyres to a maximum test, utilising top-end racing technology that is also put into everyday passenger car and commercial truck and bus tyres. Giti is excited with its plans to return to the Formula 3 Asian Championship series in January of 2021.
Giti Tyre wishes Pietro Fittipaldi the best of luck in his upcoming competition, as well as a speedy recovery to Romain Grosjean.
