Day 85–91: Thailand North and Bangkok
The entry into Thailand took place during the night hours between 22 and 23 September. Thanks to detailed preparation and the cooperation of border officials, the formalities proceeded without incident. Since 2016, a significant fee has applied to private vehicle crossings, but clearance was secured without issue.
The contrast with Laos was immediate. Thailand’s infrastructure offered a welcome improvement—well-maintained highways and, crucially, CCS2-standard charging stations. For the first time in weeks, public EV charging became straightforward again, simplifying travel across the country.
Royal Symbols and the Route South
Driving south through Thailand, the roads remained relatively narrow but smooth. Roadside tributes to the King appeared frequently—large portrait displays set in ornate frames, underscoring the monarchy’s cultural importance.
Bangkok Arrival – Urban Energy and Landmark Moments
Arriving in Bangkok brought a shift to a faster pace. The capital’s energetic rhythm provided a vivid backdrop for photography and outreach. Across several days, the team captured key city landmarks, documenting the contrast between tradition and modernity that defines Bangkok’s skyline.
