“Most Countries Visited with an Electric Car.”

Zietlow is no stranger to world records. His Challenge4 team has completed over 15 major expeditions using production-spec vehicles and currently holds eight Guinness World Records.
Past achievements include:
Germany (2020): Longest distance in a single country with a VW ID.3
USA (2021): Longest journey in the U.S. in a VW ID.4 (57,000+ km)
Bolivia (2022): Highest altitude reached in an EV (5,816 m)
Canada (2023): Cross-country record with the fewest charging stops
This new mission aims to set the record for the most countries visited in an electric vehicle. With experience earned from global expeditions, Zietlow and his team are taking on a route that spans multiple continents and pushes the limits of EV travel.
The Route

The journey begins in Hanover, Germany and spans a complex global route that includes:
- Europe
- Central Asia
- China and East Asia
- Southeast Asia and Australia
The journey will continue through Latin America and North America, concluding in Vancouver, Canada in 2026.

The Vehicle & Tyres

Volkswagen ID. Buzz Australia Arrival
Australia will offer some of the most demanding driving conditions of the entire journey. Long, isolated stretches between towns, variable road quality, changing weather, and terrain that pushes vehicles and tyres alike. By the time the tour reaches Australian soil, the ID. Buzz will already have covered tens of thousands of kilometres across continents and climates, without a tyre change.
That makes it the perfect proving ground for the GitiSynergyH₂ tyres. German-engineered with a top-tier AAA EU Rating, designed to deliver a balance of comfort, safety, mileage, and energy efficiency for EVs and hybrids.
But here’s what sets this journey apart:
The entire world tour is being completed on just one set of tyres. Just one set from Hanover to Australia and beyond.
This journey is a real-world test of what happens when advanced EV technology meets high-performance tyre engineering.

We’ll be sharing local updates and coverage as the Giti-equipped ID. Buzz eventually arrives in Australia. Watch this space.
