South Africa – Durban: Container unloading

Day 235 Arrival Durban

After seven weeks at sea, the container seal was officially broken in Durban. Following a brief customs inspection, clearance was granted and the VW ID. Buzz was driven onto the streets of the city for the first time, marking a significant milestone and the official beginning of the Africa chapter.

Accompanied by the new cameraman, Tristan Reip from Teakler-Videoproduction, who will be documenting the journey across Africa, the route continued along a tree-lined avenue to Kühne + Nagel. There, the final administrative formalities were completed and the milestone was documented with photographs.

On the way to the charging station, an impressive solar installation integrated into a covered parking area was discovered, standing as a strong symbol of sustainable mobility. With the container phase complete, the tension of the previous weeks gave way to a sense of relief and anticipation for the road ahead.

Next stop: Durban!
