Welcome to the USA
After two months at sea, the container carrying the ID. Buzz arrived in New York. The vehicle had successfully crossed both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans without any damage, marking a smooth and intact journey.
The import process into the United States was handled efficiently by the Volkswagen customs department and Kuehne + Nagel USA, ensuring a seamless arrival. The following days were spent in Manhattan, where clear skies and warm spring conditions provided an ideal setting for an extended stay.
With the vehicle now in the country, preparations shifted toward the next phase of the journey — a fully electric route across the American continent.
Later that evening, the journey continued with a drive to Boston, where the American leg would begin.
A new cameraman, Pedro from Chile, joined the team at this stage. He had previously worked with Rainer during the 2022 world record expedition with the Volkswagen ID.4 in Bolivia.
