Giti Tire has achieved another important original equipment (OE) milestone, securing fitment approval for the all-electric BMW iX1 and BMW iX2. The nomination further expands the company’s growing OEM portfolio and highlights the strength of its global engineering and research capabilities.
The approved fitment is the Giti Synergy H3 in size 245/40 R20 99Y XL, developed specifically to meet BMW Group’s stringent requirements for performance, efficiency, comfort, and sustainability across its latest electric vehicle platforms.
Designed with the demands of electric mobility in mind, the tyre combines exceptionally low rolling resistance with reduced road noise, improved wear life, and an aerodynamic sidewall profile. It has also achieved the highest EU Rolling Resistance rating of A, helping to support vehicle efficiency and driving range. As part of its BMW homologation, the tyre will feature the BMW-approved * marking on the sidewall, confirming compliance with the manufacturer’s OE specifications.
This latest approval builds on Giti Tire’s established relationship with BMW Group, following previous OE nominations for the BMW 1 Series and selected MINI models.
Nicolas Kluson, Key Account Manager Europe OE for Giti Tire, said:
“BMW Group required a tyre capable of delivering extremely low rolling resistance while maintaining the handling characteristics expected of the brand. Successfully meeting these targets demonstrates the capabilities of Giti Tire’s global engineering and development network.”
“This nomination represents another significant step in our OEM journey and reflects our commitment to developing tyre technologies that support the rapid evolution of electric vehicles. As sustainability and efficiency continue to shape the automotive industry, innovation remains at the centre of our development strategy.”
The tyre was designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany, with comprehensive testing conducted at the company’s MIRA proving ground in the United Kingdom, alongside further validation programmes in Germany and Spain.
Development was supported by AdvanZtech, Giti Tire’s integrated global R&D platform, which brings together expertise from its international network of research centres, testing facilities, and engineering teams.
The BMW iX1 and iX2 nomination further reinforces Giti Tire’s ability to deliver advanced OE solutions for modern electric vehicles while strengthening its position as a trusted engineering partner to some of the world’s leading automotive manufacturers.
